    Friends, the career that you choose after 10th will be the turning point of your life so, we should choose it by thinking well.
    According to CBSE, nearly 32 lakhs of students appeared for 10th board exams. Thats a huge number. But how many students are actually aware of what to do after 10th? Career counselling and career guidance for 10th class student is extremely important as todays youth are tomorrows future because.“Padhega India tabhi toh badhega India.”

    Find your future in your streams you may have noticed many times that students choose their streams, and they don't get a good scope in the future, so they say that I think I chose the wrong stream. But there is no right and wrong stream, all are good in their respective places, all streams depend on your interest and ability.

    Higher Studies after 10th Class

    1. Intermediate/12th

    Intermediate offers 3 stream options which determine the subjects you will study in your class 11th and 12th and the career options you would ultimately have in the future. The 3 Streams in class 11th & 12th are:

        

  • Science

    The science stream is divided into two branches namely medical (PCB) & Non- medical (PCM).

    The difference between the two lies in the choice of the third subject. While Physics and Chemistry are compulsory for both, the medical stream offers Biology as the 3rd compulsory subject, and the non-medical stream offers Mathematics as the 3rd compulsory subject. English is common to all streams and students can take up any optional subject to meet a total of 5 subjects.

  • Commerce
    If you are more inclined towards the business field, public policy, national and international events and like managing events and people. If you want to be a Chartered Accountant. If you like calculations(mainly statistics)
    Commerce stream is another good option after 10th standard. If you are the one having strong mathematics and analytical abilities, then, Commerce would be the best choice for you.

    The core subjects in the commerce stream are Economics, Business Studies, Mathematics, and Computers. Here too, English is compulsory and you have one language subject as optional. Few of the other elective subjects are Accounting, Informatics Practices, Business Communication, Finance, Statistics, etc.
  • Arts/Humanities Stream
    If you do not like any of the above mentioned branches and are more into social works, societal service and betterment, and would like to do something different from others.

    Humanities, commonly known as the arts stream, holds the widest scope of opportunities for students. While History, Geography, Political Science, and English are the core subjects, you can choose from a wide array of elective subject combinations, which include Economics, Psychology, Fine Arts, Sociology, Physical Education, literature subjects, etc. In this stream as well, while English is a compulsory language subject, students can choose among Hindi, Sanskrit, and French, as an elective subject.

    2.Polytechnic/Diploma

    10th passed students may also pursue Diploma in Engineering courses. It is also know as Polytechnic. Diploma in Engineering programs are 3 years course. Its a technical Degree/Filed. Various types of Diploma Engineering courses are available in India. Some of them are:

    Explore your interest as you have lots of subjects in options to select. Don't select options depending on which subject you like or which subject is easy. Because there may be 1 subject you like but other subjects in that field may be difficult for you, then it would be wrong choice.

    Select the field which you don't feel bored even after studying so much.
    That is, think of your final goal. Don't depend on results/Marks. Percentage is not the only factor, there are many other things like interest and ability to study. Decide now itself what you want to study after 10th and what you need to study to achieve that goal.
