What is a Neural Network?

So what is a neural network? When most people hear of a neural network the think of some magical black box that is capable of solving very complicated problems. In reality a neural network is just a very fancy math formula, well kind of. A neural network is biologically inspired and named after the network of neurons that exist in your brain. A neural network is simply a group of connected neurons, there are some input neurons, some output neurons and a group of what we call hidden neurons in between. When we feed information to the input neurons we get some information from the output neurons. Information starts at the input neurons and travels to the next layers of neurons having whats called a weight and a bias applied to it. These weight and biases start out randomly determined and are tweaked as the network learns and sees more data. After reaching a new layer there is a function applied to each neurons value that is called an activation function.

अभिग्रह क्या है ?

उपवास के बाद या उपवास के बिना अपने अपने मन में भी निशाय कर लेना की अमुक बातो के मिलने पर ही पारणा या आहार

ग्रहण करूँगा – इस प्रकार की प्रतिज्ञा को अभिग्रह कहते है I अभिग्रह क विषय में प. पू. श्री आचर्य भगवंत ने ” अणु स्तोक संग्रह ” में पाठ २० “प्रख्यान आवश्यक का थाकोड़ा” में पेज १२३ पर लिखा है –

१. सावधि – सावधि का अर्थ है अमुक समय में मेरा अभिग्रह जाये तो ठीक नहीं तो में दो या या तीन पोरसी बाद पारणा कर लूंगा वर्ना उपवास.

२. निरावधि – निरवधि अर्थात जहां तक अभिग्रह नहीं फले वहां तक आहार नहीं करना जैसे भगवान महावीर ने ६ माह ५ दिन तक आहार नहीं किया , उसने कोई अवधि नहीं बंधी थी |

•- प्रभु के माता पिता के स्वर्गवास के बाद 28 वर्ष की यौवन वय में प्रभु ने दीक्षा ग्रहण करने की तैयारी की , किंतु बड़े भाई राजा नंदिवर्धन के आग्रह से वे राजमहल में भी साधु की तरह अनासक्त भाव से दो साल तक रहें ।🙇🏻‍♂️

•- उद्यान में आने के बाद प्रभु ने स्वयं अपने सभी आभूषणों को दूर किये । पंचमुष्ठि लोच किया । सर्व पाप कर्मों को त्यागकर *' नमो सिद्धाणं '* पद बोलकर प्रभु ने दीक्षा ग्रहण की । उसी समय प्रभु को चौथा मनःपर्यव ज्ञान प्राप्त हुआ ।🙏

•- दीक्षा लेने के बाद *प्रभु ने घोर उपसर्ग और परिषहों को सहन किया ।* साढ़े बारह साल में प्रभु ने कभी निद्रा नहीं ली । सदा मौन रहे । साढ़े बारह सालों में प्रभु कभी भी बैठे तक नहीं किंतु दिन-रात सतत काऊसग्ग ध्यान में ही रहे ।  साढ़े बारह सालों में प्रभु ने कुल 4161 उपवास की तपश्चर्या की जबकि पारणे के दिन सिर्फ 349 ही थे ।🙇🏻‍♂️

Python also accepts function recursion, which means a defined function can call itself.

Recursion is a common mathematical and programming concept. It means that a function calls itself. This has the benefit of meaning that you can loop through data to reach a result.

Following is an example of a recursive function to find the factorial of an integer.

Factorial of a number is the product of all the integers from 1 to that number. For example, the factorial of 6 (denoted as 6!) is 1*2*3*4*5*6 = 720.

Hello learners… In this session, you’ll learn about Python arguments such as how to pass value to the function with suitable example.

Python Arguments

Information can be passed into functions as arguments.

Arguments are specified after the function name, inside the parentheses.

You can add as many arguments as you want, just separate them with a comma.

The following example has a function with one argument (fname). When the function is called, we pass along a first name, which is used inside the function to print the full name:

def my_function(name):
print("Hi " + name)

my_function("Arjun")
my_function("Anand")
my_function("Ajith")
my_function("Abinaya")

Arguments are often shortened to args in Python documentations.


Parameters or Arguments?

The terms parameter and argument can be used for the same thing: information that are passed into a function.

From a function’s perspective:

A parameter is the variable listed inside the parentheses in the function definition.

An argument is the value that is sent to the function when it is called.


Number of Arguments

If your function expects 2 arguments, you have to call the function with 2 arguments, not more, and not less.

This function expects 2 arguments, and gets 2 arguments:

def my_function(fname, lname):
print(fname + " " + lname)

my_function("Arjun", "Pinpoint")

If you try to call the function with 1 or 3 arguments, you will get an error

This function expects 2 arguments, but gets only 1:

def my_function(fname, lname):
print(fname + " " + lname)

my_function("Arjun")

Arbitrary Arguments, *args

If you don’t know how many arguments that will be passed into your function, add a * before the parameter name in the function definition.

This way the function will receive a tuple of arguments, and can access the items accordingly

If the number of arguments is unknown, add a * before the parameter name:

def my_function(*kids):
print("The youngest child is " + kids[2])

my_function("Emil", "Tobias", "Linus")

Arbitrary Arguments are often shortened to *args in Python documentations.


Keyword Arguments

You can also send arguments with the key = value syntax.

This way the order of the arguments does not matter.

def my_function(child3, child2, child1):
print("The youngest child is " + child3)

my_function(child1 = "Arjun", child2 = "Anand", child3 = "Ajith")

The phrase Keyword Arguments are often shortened to kwargs in Python documentations.


Arbitrary Keyword Arguments, **kwargs

If you don’t know how many keyword arguments that will be passed into your function, add two asterisk: ** before the parameter name in the function definition.

This way the function will receive a dictionary of arguments, and can access the items accordingly

If the number of keyword arguments is unknown, add a double ** before the parameter name:

def my_function(**website):
print("It's last name is " + website["lname"])

my_function(fname = "Arjun", lname = "Pinpoint")

Arbitrary Kword Arguments are often shortened to **kwargs in Python documentations.


Default Parameter Value

The following example shows how to use a default parameter value.

If we call the function without argument, it uses the default value

def my_function(country = "India"):
print("I am from " + country)

my_function("Sweden")
my_function("Norway")
my_function()
my_function("Brazil")

Passing a List as an Argument

You can send any data types of argument to a function (string, number, list, dictionary etc.), and it will be treated as the same data type inside the function.

E.g. if you send a List as an argument, it will still be a List when it reaches the function:

def my_function(food):
for x in food:
print(x)

fruits = ["apple", "banana", "cherry"]

my_function(fruits)

Return Values

To let a function return a value, use the return statement:

def my_function(x):
return 5 * x

print(my_function(3))
print(my_function(5))
print(my_function(9))

The pass Statement

function definitions cannot be empty, but if you for some reason have a function definition with no content, put in the pass statement to avoid getting an error.

def myfunction():
pass
