Clean the Microphone and Speaker
The very first thing that you should do to resolve the audio issue on your iPhone is to clean the microphone and speaker. Believe it or not, tiny particles of dust and smudge tend to get into the microphone and speaker holes.

You can use a to remove dust or gunk that may have sneaked inside the holes of speakers and microphones on your iPhone. Once you have removed the particles of dust, check if the audio has started working normally on your device. If it has started to behave normally, you are good to go.
Remove Screen Protector
Due to the lack of a precise cutout, some thick and poor quality screen guards tend to block the microphone holes. Therefore, make sure the screen guard installed on your device has precise cutouts. If you find the screen guard faulty, remove it. After that, make a phone call to someone to check if the audio has returned to normal.
Force Restart Your iPhone

Update Software
While iOS is known for smooth and snappy performance, it has a long history of being plagued by a host of annoying issues. Moreover, bugs have become a part and parcel of iOS these days.
